Autograph letters signed from J.L. Toole to various recipients [manuscript], 1880-1889.

Recipients: Mr. Cook and Mr. Boyes. Several brief notes, mostly concerning seats for performances. (3), to Boyes, mentions that as he is in the habit of playing Claude Melnotte, Rover, Hamlet and other juvenile parts, he wants to make sure the ladies do not think him any older than he is. He declares he was born March 12, 1832. Several letters written from Toole's Theatre, but also some from Folly Theatre, Derby, Theatre Royal Worcester, and Theatre Royal Croydon.
